Org scale

Built and led a 20+ person design and research organization across product areas.

System scale

Created Glassdoor's first comprehensive design system to improve consistency and delivery speed.

Business context

Contributed design leadership during the company's growth to a $1.2B acquisition.

Mandate

Glassdoor's growth required more than better screens. It needed a design organization, a research engine, and a system for product quality.

As Senior Director of UX, Product Design, and User Research, I helped scale a multi-disciplinary organization across job search, company reviews, salary insights, mobile experiences, and employer-facing workflows.

The design mandate was practical: help job seekers make higher-confidence career decisions while giving product teams a faster, more consistent way to ship.

Problem

Job seekers were navigating a high-stakes decision with too much friction.

  • Search results, reviews, salaries, and company content competed for attention.
  • Filtering and application flows needed clearer paths across desktop and mobile.
  • Product teams lacked a shared design language for repeated patterns.
  • Research needed to move from project support to strategic input for roadmap decisions.
Strategy

I built leadership rhythms across design, research, product, engineering, and executive stakeholders. We combined user interviews, behavioral data, journey mapping, market analysis, and usability testing to prioritize the parts of the experience where clarity mattered most.

Leadership contribution

This case study is the design-org proof point. It shows experience hiring, coaching, research integration, system building, and strategic product influence at company scale.

Design + research leadership

Led product design and user research together rather than treating research as a downstream service.

Design system maturity

Turned repeated UI patterns into a shared quality and speed mechanism.

Executive context

Operated through growth where design quality, product velocity, and business outcomes had to mature together.

The work scaled because the team, the product strategy, and the design system matured together.
